Golf Balls
30. July 2009 by Tee It Up Pro Shop.
By Sharon Tribelsky
When golfers meet, the common discussion are about clubs, putters, greens and other style accessories used during the game. However, most of the money a typical golfer spends in a year of golf would be on golf balls! Your clubs and putters will last you for a long time. Balls will keep disappearing into sand traps and into the lakes. So, it is worth reading a bit about golf balls.
According to the prescribed set of rules, a golf ball weighs about 46 gms, and has a diameter of about 43 mm. There are dozens of popular golf ball manufacturers in the United States and all around the world, and different competitions and clubs subscribe to different manufacturers.
For you to choose your golf balls, there are a few generic things such as your swing speed, and your purpose of playing that should be considered. For instance, if you are a beginner, or an amateur player not too serious about your game, you will most probably benefit from choosing recreational golf balls. Since they are made with two layers, they suit the players whose swing is slower - like less than 80 miles per hour. However, if you are a pro or play on a serious circuit, you need to pick the advanced balls - made of three or more layers, which require a much greater swing speed.
Golf is one of those games that stays with you till you grow really old. Unlike sports like Football and Tennis that simmer down with age, Golf time increases as you grow old, and hence it is worth it to get golf training during the initial phase of your playing the sport.
There are several international players who have not had professional golf training, and that is fine too, but few things that you would love to get trained about would be the swing, the putt, and the selection of equipment. As time goes on, every player will develop his own technique in playing the game, and golf is one of those games which allow a wide range of techniques to be implemented. You can’t say that this is right and that is wrong, as there have been players with extremely unconventional techniques going on to win the best international titles over the years.
If you are starting late into the golfing fraternity, however, you would do well to get golf training of some sort. That way, you can cover up some of the lost years (in which you did not play the game), and can catch up with your contemporaries. That is an important thing to do, as golf forges bonds that last a long time, and you don’t want to be left behind when your friends are all moving up in their quality of the game.
There are several golf training courses on offered - ranging from on-course training by real pros, to online courses that take you through the basics and show you videos. Take your pick, and you will see a lot of difference in your game.
One little piece of advice would be to stay away from trick balls in the learning phase of the sport. That would help you do well later as you play more. Take care while you buy the balls, so that your game develops faster.

I Learned Everything From the Simple Golf Swing Book
26. July 2009 by Tee It Up Pro Shop.
I was always an avid golfer. This does not mean that I have been playing golf professionally. What I am trying to say is that I just play it as a hobby. However, even if it is just a hobby, it is one that is near and dear to me. Golf will always be my great passion. I got addicted to golf when I was just nineteen years old. Back then, I really thoughtof becoming a professional golfer. But as expected, things did not turn out the way I planned and most of my time was spent in school and work. My golf swing was simply ordinary at best even though I played regularly twice a month. But that was before I stumbled onto the Simple Golf Swing E-book.
A player’s golf swing is the most fundamental skill that one needs to hone and develop in order to play golf well. This is because even before you are able to figure in the velocity of the air currents to your game, even before you learn to putt correctly, you will have to learn how to swing correctly at the start of each game. Getting your swing right is half the journey probably even more than half of it to playing like a pro.
Most players think that they could learn a lot by watching the pros. While there is truth in this, thinking this way can be dangerous. This is because the thing anyone would probably emulate from these golfers is their swing. But most if not all golfers has his or her own unique style. You can’t just copy Tiger Wood’s swing just by observing him play. It takes more than a lifetime of hard practice. One also needs to be born with a certain biological advantage. This is because a professional golfer’s swing is created by one’s unique body type and his natural capacity. Attempting to learn Tiger’s swing might in fact hurt our body. You will have to constantly stress parts of your body time after time. If your body is not suited to that swing, then you will feel pain.
This is the reason the Simple Golf Swing was created in the first place. It isn’t just a single swing technique. The Simple Golf Swing is an entire system that really guides you in finding a swing of your own. It starts you with a “simple” or generic swing system that can be done by anyone. The e book is complete with easy to read instructions and many sample images. Many who bought the product might not have turned into golf pros. But like me, their golf swing has improved dramatically and they are now able to enjoy their golfing experiences to the fullest.
Your Guide To Becoming A Better Golfer with new golf swing
24. July 2009 by Tee It Up Pro Shop.
Focus, determination, and relentless perseverance are the keys to becoming a better golfer with new golf swing. If you utilize these traits you will be able to lower your golf score significantly and become a better golfer. These traits are important!
Confident golf players always do better than golf players that are not confident at all. Players that lack confidence usually have a weaker swing. Part of this has to do with the fact that they are indecisive when they are swinging.
If you want to lower your golf score significantly then you need to find a way to increase the confidence that you play with. Lack of confidence can often result in being jittery before a shot. Being jittery like this can result in a bad play being made. Before taking each shot you should visualize the shot before hand. You should visualize exactly where you want to place the ball as well as visualizing yourself taking the actual shot.
Practicing vital approach shots over and over again are the key to being a successful golfer. The best golfers in the world practice for hours upon hours each day. This gives them the ability and the opportunity to lower their score significantly during each and every golf game. Approach shots are important because they give you the opportunity to go for a birdie when you are on the putting green. Practicing also helps to increase your level of confidence when you are playing golf. This increased confidence will decrease the amount of jitters you have before you take a shot. Over time, this practice will allow you to use stronger and longer clubs which will allow you to be a better golfer.
One of the most useful types of shots in golf is called the pitch shot. The pitch shot similar to the high pitch-and-run shot. Most golfers do not realize that the low pitch-and-run shot results in significantly less carry. It does result in significantly more run. This type of shot can be one of the most useful types of shots in certain scenarios. One of the best scenarios for using this type of shot is when there is a strong wind. When taking this type of shot it is also important to lean slightly back on your back foot. You should keep all of these things in mind when taking your shot as well as when you take a run-up with a club that is straight. Five-irons are often the club of choice for this type of shot, but it is ultimately your decision when it comes to what type of club you use!
One of the most troublesome tasks in the game of golf is playing a ball when it is in the rough. There are several important factors that you should keep in mind when playing a ball in the rough. First of all, putting any type of spin on a ball that is in the rough is significantly more difficult than it is when hitting a ball on the fairway. You should always remember that the ball will roll more and not stick when it is played in the rough. You should take this into consideration when calculating how much power to put on your shot.
A golfer’s stance can often be the deciding factor as to whether or not he is going to have a successful shot. Left foot positioning is the key to having a successful shot as a golfer. A lot of golfers make the mistake of leaning back on their right foot when they are in a difficult or troublesome spot. Another mistake that many amateur golfers make is gripping the club too tightly. This can often result in them hitting the ball too hard or in the wrong spot. Moderate golf grips are still the best type of grip even if you are in a difficult situation.
Bunker shots are also important when trying to become a world class golfer.
Most golfers believe that the bunker shot is one of the most difficult shots in the game of gold. The fact of the matter is that the bunker shot can sometimes be one of the easiest shots. The best situation that you can have in a bunker is if the ball is lying on top of fine sand and dry sand. If this is the situation then you have an extremely easy shot on your hands so there is no need to worry!
One of the best types of golf clubs to use in this type of a situation is a heavy-sand iron. You should also put the face of your club slightly back. This will allow you to properly strike the golf ball. It is important to realize that the face of the club is in the opposite position that it would be in if it was hooded. Your stance is vital when striking a ball in the bunker. The best position for you stance is an open stance. Planting your feet extremely firmly in the ground is also vital to a successful shot. A lot of new golfers accidently slip on the sand during their shot. If you make sure your feet are in the ground properly then you will not slip at all. Striking a ball in the bunker requires a very different type of stroke. When you hit a ball in the bunker you are actually hitting the sand that is an inch or two before the ball instead of the ball itself.
Playing a ball in a bunker can be very difficult if you have never done it before. A ball should always be struck directly if it is in the fairway. When striking the ball in the bunker you actually do not strike the ball. When you strike a ball that is in the sand you strike the sand that is one to two inches before the ball. It is important that you NEVER strike the ball itself when it is in the sand. If you do this you risk pushing the ball deeper into the sand. You should slowly move your club back outside the line and then utilize a normal downswing. If you do everything correctly you will be able to easily play the ball up and out of the sand trap
The best golfers in the world can do this perfectly. If you do everything like this you can successfully get the golf ball to go where you want it to go. By striking the sand instead of the ball you actually create a cushion of sand on the edge of the club. The cushion of sand will then allow you to easily play the ball onto the green or fairway.
A lot of golfers make the silly mistake of trying to manipulate the club head when they are trying to play a golf ball out of the sand. If you try and manipulate the head of a golf club you may accidentally mess up your shot. When striking a ball that is in the sand you should always use a gentle stroke and try to maintain the direction that the club is facing. If you do this you will be able to get the ball out of the sand trap successfully. You should also avoid turning your wrist at all costs. If you allow your wrist to roll over then you have a problem. It is also vital to maintain the length of your follow through as well as your back swing.
By mastering the bunker shot you will be able to successfully become a better golfer!

Golf Putting Training Aids From The Professionals
20. July 2009 by Tee It Up Pro Shop.
By Troy Vayanos
Putting at golf has many times been said to be a game all on it’s own and, to a certain extent, that’s very correct. The skills required to master the perfect downhill putting stroke, on a slope, or with the perfect curve of an undulating green, bear little similarity to any other shots made from the tee or the fairway. Here are a few golf putting training aids and golf putting instructions that the professionals use to win golf championships:
Ensure That The Path Of The Putter Matches Your Putting Line
No doubt you have been heard of the good putting instruction of always striking the ball with the centre or the sweet spot of the putter head. This is of course the solid base of consistent putting, however, you still have to make sure that impact with the ball occurs with the putter head moving directly along the intended target line, and with the face square to the target.
Beat The Yips With Your Putting By Splitting Your Hands
This golf putting training aid may or may not help you, but professional golfers around the world agree that by separating the hands on the putter grip helps to prevent the yips. Give this a go during your next game of golf and see what happens. At least 80% of golfers have reported fewer problems with the yips with this simple yet effective grip technique.
If Any Doubt Crosses Your Mind, Just Aim Straight
Not every putt on the green is easy to read the line. If you ever have any doubt about the line of the putt for whatever reason, simply aim the putt straight at the hole. Just aim at the middle of the hole and hit the ball making solid contact.
Try To Find Your Ideal Putting Speed
Whenever you practice your putting, take note of how far past the hole your ball travels anytime you miss a putt. The reason being is you need to strive to have your putts ending up about 15 to 20 inches beyond the hole if they don’t go in. With time and practice you will get to the stage with most putts going the same distance passed the hole every time. This will ultimately ensure you make huge improvement in your putting.
Important To Keep Your Head & Body As Still As Possible
If you watch any of the top tour professionals putt and will notice a number of different putting techniques. What they all having in common is their own style which is critical to helping them maintain their head and body through the putting stroke thus ensuring a greater chance of holing a putt.

Golf The Real Thing
19. July 2009 by Tee It Up Pro Shop.
By Kacy Carr
The grass is always greener on the other side. Not as green as I felt on the inside the day I decided to check out this golf lark. Never could get my head round why all the fuss at the sheer mention of the word golf.
Off to the local driving range I did go, selected a golf club and purchased a token for fifty golf balls. More knowledge on the game would have made me realize the importance of choosing the right size golf club.
Inserting the token into the slot for the golf balls. What a nightmare. Well? no one told me to place a basket underneath the shoot. Those balls came flooding out like Niagra falls, these balls without a doubt were certainly cursed bouncing higher than me. Doomed from the start a golf stick to suit Shrek and only twenty balls of my fifty. The rest for all I know could be in Timbukto.
More misses than hits I recall but I was slowly beginning to enjoy this golf lark. Why not try the real thing? a voice called from the cubicle next to me. Is this not the real thing I asked. No mate you need to be on a course he replied. Determined as ever, off I went in search of the real thing.
Found myself a course with eighteen holes. Now for the real thing. Taking the first shot I watched as my ball rotated in and around several humps down funnels swirling in and out of a maze of curves. Bit like the krypton factor but I was desperate to find out about the real thing.
Senor it is 5pm and we are closing the attendant called out. But I am only on hole number three I explained. Why not come back tommorrow? and that I did for the next fornight.
Pedro (The Attendant) and I had struck up a friendly relationship in all the time I was going back and too. I am afraid Pedro this golf lark is not for me. Senor this is crazy golf, not the real thing. What is the difference I asked.
Pedro explained that he had a few friends that he would like me to meet. He also went onto say that they could help me in my quest to find out what the major attraction in golf is for many thousands of people. What lovely people Pedro’s friends were. Boy oh boy they sure showed me a few tricks of the trade.
It is was all falling into place now, knowing all the rules simplified and made this game more understanding.
Yes? I was loving this new found sport that was to change my whole way of life for the rest of my life.
Before leaving I thanked everyone, now over to my good friend Pedro. Clinching him in a manly hug and shaking his hand at the same I could not thank him enough for his patience. It was a pleasure Senor, by the way senor I did not quite catch your name.
Just call me TIGER

The Lates in Wonderful Golf Attire
18. July 2009 by Tee It Up Pro Shop.
By Walt Haley
The rainy US Open just wrapped up and the golf was splendid. I was really pulling for Phil Mickelson, he was obviously the sentimental favorite and for obvious reason. It was a record fifth time he finished 2nd at the US Open, I guess that doesn’t make him feel better. When the second place check clears in his bank account, he may feel a little bit okay about it. Seeing David Duval back in action was pretty cool too. The one thing I really hated about him was those stupid Oakley sunglasses he used to wear. The ones redneck hicks on beaches everywhere were wearing. He looked like an idiot in those things, but everyone did.
I was glad to see him lose those bad boys.
I was watching Phil play and he and I have a few things in common; we are both left handed and both built a little frumpy. (Actually I am a lot frumpy, but Phil is catching up). I noticed Phil sporting a pair of pin striped pants as if he was playing for the Yankees. I know they say stripes are thinning, but for Phil they definitely were not. He didn’t look so hot. Then there is John Daly. He was at that golf tournament a few weeks back and he wore these plaid pants that were about 14 different bright (and I mean bright) colors. It looked like he woke up in the morning and threw up the 14 pairs of pants he ate the night before and sewed them back together.
He looked horrible.
All these young kids in golf seem to be wearing bright, bright colors as well. It’s as if they are playing a game against one another to see who can dress the most outlandish. “Oh, this is the worst-looking hat I ever saw. What, when you buy a hat like this I bet you get a free bowl of soup, huh?”If I showed up one day to a golf outing wearing a fluorescent green Nike shirt and pleated white pants with a crease in them, my friends would throw mud on me. I would be clean for about 15 seconds. My buddy Brian would squirt ketchup on my pants or something. (I actually have white pants at home that I have never worn, strictly for this reason.)
These guys get away with it, because you always could dress crazy in golf. Remember the hat that Judge Smails wore? That was in the 1980’s and it would be a huge hit on the PGA tour today. I think that is the reason that Tiger Woods is head and shoulders above the rest of the field. I have never seen him not dressed conservatively. The craziest he dresses is in a red Nike shirt, and that is when he is all business on Sundays. And he is going up against 87 people wearing plaid pants, knickers, stripped pants and pink shirts. They don’t stand a chance, but hey, at least they look good on television.
