Pre Golf Swing Stance
To begin with make sure stance is correct with your feet shoulder width apart. Very important to note that your shoulders are in alignment with the target. Angle your left foot slightly outside your left shoulder while keeping your right foot pointed in line with your right shoulder.Make sure you hold this stance at keep relaxed and natural all of the time. These small measured adjustments maybe simple, but it will certainly make a big difference to your direction of projection and distance. .
Gripping the golf club properly
Your golf club grip is another contributing factor and effects the flight angle of the golf ball. Take your left hand and grip the club, making sure that your left thumb is running along the shaft and is in line with the clubface. Take your right hand and overlap your left hand ensuring that your right palm is covering your left thumb and also have your right thumb pointed along the shaft. Pay close attention on how tight you grip the club. Gripping the club to tight will more likely make you over rotate and cause you to hook the ball.
To make things more efficient keep note of where the back of hands are facing when gripping the club, have the back of the left hand pointed at the target and have your right hand facing the other way. Practice this regularly and give yourself the time to adjust to your new found technique, it may seem simple in the process but it is repitition that will make it sit in your brain.
Golf Swing Tips
Analysing your golf swing is another way to improving the efficiency of your swing. Practice these steps after you have mastered your stance and grip. The first step would be your backswing, the backswing starts with shoulders, arms, hand grip and club in a smooth, relaxed and natural backswing motion. When attempting the downswing drive with your hips keeping focussed on the ball. Important tip to remember is to keep your head down even after contact during the follow through. Like every pro says, practice makes perfect. You will find you will probably create an extra 20 - 30 yards to your distance. Remember to Practice, Repitition is the master of skill.
