Byron Nelson 2009 Golf Tournament

The HP Byron Nelson Championship begins this week in Irving, Texas. The event is the PGA Tour’s all-time leader in charitable donations, having raised more than $107 million for local charities over the past 40 years.

Byron Nelson has two of the PGA Tour’s most untouchable records: 18 victories in a season and 11 consecutive victories at tour events, both records were set in 1945.

Defending champion Adam Scott, Phil Mickelson and Rory Sabbatini are headlining this year’s HP Byron Nelson Championship. The field is set for the 2009 HP Byron Nelson Championship. 

Already one of DFW’s biggest sports attractions, the HP Byron Nelson Championship is exected to be the biggest Memorial Day weekend party of 2009.
